PIKSTool Software Description
PIKSTool, developed by Gerard A. Paquette, is a graphical user interface built upon the PixelSoft PIKS Scientific API. With PIKSTool, a user can easily execute PIKS operators on a user-supplied source image without the need to compile a C program. By sequencing a series of popup windows, a user can select a source image, select a PIKS operator, e.g. unsharp mask, specify the operator parameters, select a display option and display the processed image. Shown below is a screen dump of the application of unsharp masking on an image.
The ability to chain together a sequence of PIKSTool operators for complex algorithms is under development.
Example of PIKSTool processing of a medical image.
